Afro-Celtic Sound System sort of says it all in one phrase. The similarities between African music and Irish music are uncanny. Rather than focus on the ‘why’, simply let your emotions be carried away into the atmospherics.  I prefer to think of Afro Celtic as ‘classical’ world music. The songs that never end and follow no known popular format. You can hear most songs repeatedly and still find it new and exciting, unlike the restrictions of a three minute pop/rock formula, as much as I am a fan of Pop/Rock.

‘Further in Time’ was featured on ‘Battlestar Galatica’. ‘Life Begin Again’ has Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin) on lead vocals. It is the ‘unknowns’ who fill the ranks and flesh out the lineup. Each, players of incredible talent and all celebrating the Clash of Culture and how beautiful it can be. Sinead O’Connor sang lead vocals on ‘Release’. ‘When You’re Falling’ was a US chart success with Peter Gabriel on lead vocals.  It is Real World Records is Gabriel’s pet project. ‘Dark Moon, High Tide’ by Afro Celtic was the music behind ‘Gangs of New York’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis.
